      Our Facility and Affiliations

RPMA sleep specialists interpret sleep studies done at the Sequoia Sleep Center at Redwood Pulmonary in Redwood City, CA, and the Redwood Sleep Center in Novato, CA (also accredited by the AASM). The Sequoia Sleep Center is located within the office suite of RPMA, making it convenient for our patients to know where to come for in-lab sleep testing and mask fittings. We offer a team-care approach to evaluation and management, employing sleep physicians from different primary specialties, advanced practice providers, registered sleep technologists, respiratory therapists, and highly trained healthcare advisors with backgrounds in education, clinical psychology, nursing, emergency medical technology, and education.

For patients who meet the criteria, we offer a variety of home sleep apnea tests whose sensors measure different physiologic parameters that facilitate diagnosis and treatment. The selected testing device is tailored to the patient’s unique needs

      Our Services

At Sequoia Sleep Center, we offer a range of services to diagnose and treat sleep disorders. Our sleep specialists will evaluate your sleep patterns to determine the source of your sleep problem and make a diagnosis. The overnight laboratory sleep study (polysomnography, or PSG) is the most comprehensive test for detecting a sleep disorder. A PSG measures your sleep cycles and stages, snoring, chin movements, heart rhythms, oxygen saturation, pulse, breathing patterns, and leg movements.

Daytime sleep studies to measure daytime sleepiness and CPAP desensitization to facilitate treatment with continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) may be performed as needed.

      OSA Care Plan

In 2021, we integrated our electronic health records with Salesforce Health Cloud. This powerful platform allows us to measure individual patient trends and de-identified patient population metrics. We provide a complete care plan for individuals with Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) that covers their journey from the initial consultation to diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care. We aim to fill the gaps in care that often hinder patients from making real improvements.

Sleep Services for Health Plan of San Mateo Patients

In 2014, Redwood Pulmonary Medical Associates created a unique sleep program for the 120,000 San Mateo County residents with Medicaid or other county-subsidized health insurance. Our full-service sleep assessment and management program, overseen by a dedicated nurse navigator, is designed to reduce the impact of medical conditions commonly linked to untreated obstructive sleep apnea.
