Melissa S. Lim, M.D.

Melissa S. Lim, MD is the Medical Director and founder of Redwood Pulmonary Medical Associates. Dr. Lim is Board-Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases, and Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Lim earned her Medical Degree at Ohio State University College of Medicine. She completed her Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at Boston City Hospital and Boston University in Boston, MA, and was selected as acting Chief Resident. Dr. Lim was the Eudowood Fellow in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospitals in Baltimore, MD, and completed her Fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine in the Cardiovascular Research Institute at the University of California in San Francisco, CA.
During her studies and professional practice, Dr. Lim was recognized with numerous honors, including the Guardian Angel Award from Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City, CA; American Lung Association Research Fellowship Award, National Chapter; and American Lung Association Research Fellowship Award, California Chapter.
Dr. Lim's professional appointments include Medical Director of the Sequoia Sleep Disorders Center and Redwood Sleep Center, Inc.; Medical Director of the I-ELCAP (International Early Lung Cancer Action Program) at Sequoia Hospital and (formerly) Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco, where she remains a member of the Thoracic Oncology Program and the Graduate Alumni Association.

Anita Chandrasena, M.D.

Anita Chandrasena, MD is Board-Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. She has a strong interest in lung cancer in addition to general pulmonary diseases. After completing her undergraduate studies at the University of California at Davis, Dr. Chandrasena received her medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Yale/New Haven Hospital, then moved back to California, where she completed a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco.
Dr. Chandrasena is the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including Yale Internal Medicine, Fred Sachs Award (For possessing those attributes of the heart and mind that best exemplify the dedication to learning and empathy towards patients.), Yale Internal Medicine, Samuel D. Kushlan Award (For contributing most to patient care at Yale-New Haven Hospital.), Yale School of Medicine Short Term Student Research Grant, Yale School of Medicine Summer Research Fellowship, Golden Key National Honor Society Member, Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society Member, Dow Chemical Company Scholarship, Robert and Ida Sproul Scholarship, Departmental Citation-Chemistry (University of California, Davis), TRW Scholarship, ML Bailey Scholarship, and Dean’s List (University of California, Davis).

Donna Nguyen, PA-C
Ms. Nguyen completed her undergraduate studies in biology at the University of California, San Diego in 2000 and moved east, where she received a Master of Science in Clinical Exercise Physiology from Northeastern University in Boston. She also earned a masters degree in Health Sciences at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and became a licensed, certified physician assistant. After working for two years in a cardiology practice in Philadelphia, she returned to the west coast and joined Redwood Pulmonary Medical Associates in 2008. Since joining Redwood Pulmonary, Ms. Nguyen has become extremely adept at diagnosing and treating a wide range of pulmonary and sleep disorders, and works entirely in collaboration withs Drs. Lim and Chandrasena. With her assistance our patients are guaranteed urgent evaluations for their medical problems.
